Family Vacation

All families are different, all families have their own issues. No one's family life is perfect, but you can make your's good.

If you’re one of the parents who’s been working too hard but has finally realised that life is too short, take a deep breath and think!

We all know that children grow so fast and there is no better time to spend precious time with your kids than right now. If you can't spend more time with your kids because of your work loads then take advantage of the long weekend vacations. Set your calendar, list down your family vacation plans, save and go! There's no valid reasons why you cannot give time to your kids. Quality time is what the kids need most from you.

Yes, family vacation trips are important, can be expensive but if you take into consideration the importance and value of it you might not be spending up as much money as you would think. Family trip is the best opportunity to enjoy time, experience new ideas, create good family relationship and give wonderful childhood memories for your kids.

Here are some of the pictures taken during our recent trip to Singapore. I hope these pictures help you out and you'll go on a great and memorable vacation soon with your family. Good luck!

Heading towards the passenger loading area.

One of our best family vacations ever! The most memorable to remember for a lifetime.

My little one can fasten his own seatbelt.
My son always wears his seatbelt in the car so even without telling him to do it inside the airplane, he did it. Good boy!

First time flying while sleeping inside the plane : )
My youngest fell asleep half way through the flight, while my eldest was wide awake with excitement the entire trip.

Touched down Singapore!
We arrived at Singapore around 9:00am. After taking some souvenir pictures with my brother-in-law, we stopped at McDonalds to eat our breakfast.

Semei Station
Then we headed to my brother-in-law's place to freshen up
then took the MRT to Orchard road.

Taking MRT is one of the most inexpensive mode of commuting around the city. If you want to save some cash it might be wiser to take the EZ link card.

The Singapore EZ link card is available from any MRT stations. Top-up your card to skip the long queue at the ticket booth. The amount that you pay for the card allows you to travel on buses and trains for an unlimited number of times.

Moving on from MRT, we walked further down to the most favorite shopping road in the city, the Orchard Road.

Continue along Orchard Road and you'll find the eye-catching building of Ion Orchard.

The award-winning ION Orchard’s building structure is accentuated with some of the world’s top luxury brands like Cartier,

Prada

Louis Vuitton

and many others.

Orchard Road is not only a shopping haven but a food one too. If you are craving for the best delicious local meals without sacrificing your budget, try Food Republic at Wisma Atria.

Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodles is one of the most authentic and commonly ordered seafood noodles in the food court. If not mistaken, the smallest serving was S$4.50, quite expensive if converted to Philippine peso.

This one is rojak (Malay for 'mixed up'). A very tasty appetiser, consists of sliced cucumber, turnip, pineapple, apple, green mango and beansprouts together with pieces of crispy dough sticks and taupok (dried beancurd) all mixed in a prawn paste sauce with ground peanuts, ginger flower, sugar and lime. A must-have when feeling peckish or as a great prelude to a hearty dinner. I can't remember how much.

From Orchard Road we walked through the maze of Suntec City and Raffles place.

A Koi pond inside the Suntec city. We enjoyed watching the fish swimming back and forth as my youngest son tried to catch the biggest koi (@-@)

This one

Then we proceed to the Fountain of Wealth. As you can see, the crowd around the fountain was touching the water believing to bring good fortune for their lives. We also enjoyed touching the water while whispering some good wishes (^0^ )

According to Feng Shui, Fountain of Wealth symbolizes perfection and unity. The water falling inwards symbolizes retention of wealth. Though there's no water  coming out from the ring, we still enjoyed the view. My hubby and I both aware that there are certain periods of the day that the fountain is turned off to invite the visitors to walk around the center point. Maybe, we should come back some other day.

We kept walking at the side walk until we reached the Singapore Flyer.

The Singapore Flyer is a giant Ferris wheel located across the Marina Bay Sands. According to Wikipedia, it was constructed in 2005–2008. Described by its operators as an observation wheel, it reaches 42 stories high, with a total height of 165 m (541 ft), making it the tallest Ferris wheel in the world, 5 m (16 ft) taller than the Star of Nanchang and 30 m (98 ft) taller than the London Eye.

Sightseeing timeout at Singapore river. My eldest son was so disappointed that he didn't get to cruise the river (~*~)

Bye river boat!

At Youth Olympic Park. The very first Art Park in Singapore.

A short stop and a little camwhoring while walking towards the Helix Bridge.

This stunning view of Singapore looks really amazing! Don't ever miss to take a photo of the lotus-inspired Art Science Museum and the boat-shaped 'SkyPark' perched atop the three towers that make up the world's most expensive hotel, The Marina Bay Sands!

My kids anxiously checking the electronic information guide. Can't wait to see the inside ^0^

People passing by at Kenko Fish Spa will stop to check these feet and will start taking pictures (^+^ )

Purchase your single-entry ticket and proceed to the nearest lift to go up to the 57th level to see the Sands SkyPark Observation Deck. Adultst: SG$ 20.00. Children between 2-12 years old: SG$14.00. Expect a long queue at the Ticket Sales.

You should not miss the chance to check and buy some exclusive Marina Bay Sands gifts and apparels at the Sky Park Shop.

My kids insisted to use this telescope to take a closer look of the view.

Aerial view of Singapore Flyer and Floating Football Pitch.

Top view of Esplanade. The Merlion Statue was closed for maintenance..sad ;(

Infinity Pool, here we come! We explored the pool and took advantage of the very impressive view. Super dooper, 2 thumbs up!

My kids were so obsessed to swim but these areas are strictly for hotel guests only. Ticket holders to the SkyPark are not allowed to access the pool and garden. So next time for sure, we will definitely be staying here so that we can swim together on top of the tower while looking down to the beautiful sights of the city.

Revealing the hotel's infinity-edged rooftop pool. Not that dangerous to look down, right? ^o^

Picture taking while relaxing in the lobby area.

It's almost 6pm when we decided to go down and start exploring the ground floor area. Want to grab a quick buffet dinner? Head to Rise restaurant in the lobby.

giant lanterns.

As you go near the entrance you can watch and listen to these all Asian girls performing the ambient music with a violin and string quartet.

We lost the opportunity to hit some slots inside the Casino: ) Aside from they do not allow kids to hang around, we're also hungry and need to look for a cheaper restaurant to eat.

Yum, yum, yum! Snow cone, or snow ball are types of shaved ice with flavoring colors, commonly served after meals and one of the best seller desserts inside the food court of Marina Bay.

Resting our legs on the stairs while thinking about where to go next.

The colourful helix bridge at night. Despite the crowds, it didn’t take us more than 10 minutes to reach the end of the bridge. Not that long (^&^)

Uniquely Singapore!

The Esplanade Theater at night. Some say, the biggest durian in the city : )

Be sure to bring your most hi-tech cam plus the tripod and capture everything that can make your way down to this newest attraction. Immerse yourself in an amazing convergence of lights, music and sounds. Set to a breathtaking orchestral soundtrack  and enjoy the visual effects of interweaving lasers, searchlights, video projectors and giant streaming water screens.

Never end your night at Marina Bay Sands without visiting some nice restaurants that you can hang out 'til late at night. After your exhausting day spent some time to eat at Makansutra Gluttons Bay. It's a fun place with outdoor seating only. If you are into seafood and hot and spicy delicacies, this is the place to be! My family had BBQ stingray, fried baby squid, chicken rice, garlic kailan and prawns. Yummy to end the night.

Time spent with your family is always precious, find time to be with them. When your work gives you a thousand reasons to sob, show to your boss that you have million reasons to ENJOY..cheers (@^@)
