Halloween Events + Trick or Treat in the Philippines

Halloween is almost here again!


As Halloween approaches, several events and scary themed decorations starts popping up in most shopping centers in the Metro. In some big shopping malls like SM, Market Market, Rustans, Eastwood City and Rockwell Power Plant scary scenes and intense decorations always begins early week of October while Halloween events are commonly held on the last week of the same month. 


Halloween events are the best opportunity for the kids to party and wear their spookiest costumes. Please note however that some events are not for free. You should purchase some merchandise to join. Tickets will NOT also be available at the gate of the event so plan ahead and purchase your goodies to get tickets in advance. 

Below are some pictures from my kid's past and recent Halloween events. Hopefully, these will give you and your kids some great ideas what to wear and where to go this coming Holiday. More photos will be added soon, so check back regularly.

Nickledeon Scarenival was a joined promo of SM MOA and Toy Kingdom where the shopper can get free tickets for 2 to the Nickelodeon Scarenival by availing or purchasing merchandise at Toy Kingdom. Please note however that you need to purchase at least 1,000 pesos worth to get the ticket.

Cartoon Network Celebrates Halloween @ SM Megamall 2011

Cartoon Network celebrates Halloween fun at the basement of SM Megamall on October 30, 2011.  Children (even adults) were dressed as vampires, witches, fairies, princesses, superheroes, pirates, and even horses, just to name a few. The price of admission includes free picture taking with the Cartoon Network Mascots and candy for the little ones. Every year, kids, always looks forward to this event."

Who said there's no trick or treating in the Philippines?

Trick or treating isn't how Filipinos celebrate Halloween. However, the malls and subdivisions  in some cities have started doing it.

Young trick-or-treaters can go from store to store and get some goodies from generous participating merchants. This guy (in checkered) welcomed my kids with open arms and gave candies with a great smile. Big thanks to you!

We let our kids roam around the mall and do a trick-or-treating at the various stores.

Kids at SM Megamall have been running around in Halloween costumes, going from store to store asking for treats. However, not all merchants are opening their doors for trick-or-treaters, so, be sure to get the list and go straight to the participating stores only. Some outlets had ran out of candies early also, so, it can be wiser to be store specific, where to go and where to skip.  I just wish, more stores would participate next year so that all trick-or treaters can get candies : )

it can be wiser to take your kids out before sunset, so they can be home before it gets dark.

Make sure groups of trick or treaters have umbrellas. Don't let a little rain ruin the fun.

It's less confusing for the house owner to have a few kids on the doorstep. When you go for trick or treating as a group, keep the numbers small so that everyone can get goodies.

But you have to expect the unexpected.
